Try some different colour schemes from time to time

Paint the colours on really quickly without thinking too much

These colours: Lemon yellow, quinacrinone rose, cobalt.

Draw the tree quite precisely then paint the branches in different colours and tones. Use a rigger or a sharp stick for the twigs
